What's the Best Type of Roof for Solar Panels?

Solar panels can be installed on any type of roof. The most common roof types are composite and tile, but solar panels can also be mounted on metal, tar and gravel, torch-down, wood shake, or even foam.

For best production, the solar panel array should be facing south or south west with minimal shade from trees or other obstructions, and at a 30-degree angle. For flat tar and gravel or foam roofs, this angling can be achieved with tilt-up brackets to position the panels properly.

Our installers are experienced working on any roof type and will make sure your system is secure and positioned to operate at maximum efficiency.
