The Solar Company Story

Mark Danenhower founded The Solar Company after recognizing the need for skilled, experienced, and certified installers for the solar panel installation business to expand in California. He was originally a general contracting company (Mark Construction) and has been in business since 1990. A switch to solar power was started in 2003 with the solar co. It was established as "Mark Construction DBA The Solar Company" in 2004.

Mark and his wife, Christina, were both born and raised in California and want to help preserve this beautiful land. Their children are also very involved in promoting solar power and can often be found assisting their parents at home shows.

The Solar Company also prides itself in staying up to date and educated in the newest and best installation practices. The install crew has been professionally trained and has worked alongside Mark since 1998. All installers have received training through the SunPower University and one of them is also a licensed general contractor. We value our employees and reward them for their dedicated work. The crew enjoys working together as a team and frequently gets together after work for other activities. You'll be sure to enjoy the personal and professional service that the company provides.

The Solar Company has two NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certified individuals: Mark Danenhower and Eric Piekarczyk. It is the only national certification for photovoltaic installers. Our installers also have experience installing grid-connected and grid-independent (stand-alone) PV systems.
