How Much Does Solar Power Cost?
Solar Panel System Cost
The Solar Company uses SunPower panels, one of the highest efficiency solar panels available. Total gross system cost will be between $8-10 per watt to install, including sales tax, making it an affordable solar solution. The exact solar panel system cost will depend on the system size (see What Size Solar System Do I Need?), ease of installation, and regional rebates or incentives. A 3 kW system that would power a typical California residence with good southern exposure would have an estimated net cost of about $15,000 after all rebates and credits. The same size system for a commercial project would end up with a net cost of about $9,000 after taking advantage of the larger tax incentives: Solar Tax Credits.
Financing Solar Power
Solar for Residential
Most people decide to finance a solar power system. You are welcome to pay cash, find your own financing solution, or use our lending program. We use SunPower Smart Financing because it offers five different lending options that are designed to meet your economical situation. If you do decide to finance, it is important to use a lender that understands what you are buying. This will allow you to get a better loan. The SunPower Smart Financing program uses home equity loans that allow you to get great rates, fixed or variable interest loans, and the ability to write off the interest as a tax deduction.
Solar for Commercial
For most businesses, money is tight. Paying for a solar generator out of pocket is not an option. For that reason, most businesses lease a solar electric solution. This offers no out-of-pocket expense and at the same time is very simple to write off.
